Allowed usage of Wi-Fi 6E update note Following up on the previous news regarding the resolution, R.D. 1034/2025 and R.D. 1035/2025 for Wi-Fi 6E, we received Official Note, dated August 26, 2025, from the authority which corrected their opinion regarding the update for obtained certificates. The Note informed that manufacturers must update their certificates to include Wi-Fi 6E functions before enabling this feature on their products. This replaced earlier guidance that permitted usage prior to renewal.

Allowed usage of Wi-Fi 6E

The Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) of Paraguay published R.D. 1034/2025 and R.D. 1035/2025 on April 23, 2025, which allowed the usage of Wi-Fi 6E with frequency range 5925MHz - 6425MHz. The new regulations came into effect immediately upon publication.

Previously, Wi-Fi 6E was not allowed in Paraguay. For devices with function of Wi-Fi 6E, the manufacturers only applied for CONATEL certificates by disabling the Wi-Fi 6E bands. For the obtained certificates, we are waiting for the official documentation to ensure that the certificates’ updates will NOT be necessary, and the devices can operate with Wi-Fi 6E enabled within the frequency range 5925MHz - 6425MHz.
