Samoa releases Label requirement for Type Approval Equipment
The Office of Regulator (OOTR) of Samoa has approved a trademark as a symbol of approval for telecommunications equipment, as per Order of the Regulator No.2021/T02 ('Order'), which came into effect from June.23, 2021.
This new trademark as below will only be used by the manufacturer and importer once the Type Approval Certificate is granted with the approved Type Approval Identification Code. The trademark should be affixed on packaging, warranty forms, instruction manual and leaflets, websites and equipment or devices. A height of at least 3mm is recommended. An electronic labelling is also recommended if the product has a built in display. For the built in display only, both the electronic label and Type Approval Identification Code must be used. This label requirement is not mandatory for products already type approved by OOTR before the enforcement date but it is required for products approved after the date.
