Costa Rica- National Frequencies Allocation Plan updates
SUTEL has published an updated “National Frequencies Allocation Plan” version on April 30, 2021, with modifications for the operational conditions for unlicensed bands in Costa Rica.
The main modifications are:
1. The extension of the unlicensed range for the 900 MHz band.
2. The definition of the segment from 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz for unlicensed use.
3. The operating conditions for radar systems on the 76 GHz to 81 GHz band.

SUTEL has updated the regulation for mobile devices.
The Telecommunications Authority, SUTEL, published a new regulation, RCS-358-2018, dated December 30, 2018, to update the homologation process and testing items for mobile devices.
Previously, local testing is only required for the cellular part. However, according to the new regulation, when mobile devices with other wireless functions, such as WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc., testing is also required for those non-mobile wireless functions.
