Mongolia- CRC updated the SRD regulation

 

 Mongolian Authority Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC) published Resolution no. 37, 2020, bringing some updates and amendments to the regulation of Short Range Devices(SRD) which includes:

      1.   Short range devices are re-organized and categorized into 14 types. A new type of Metering Device is added.

 

2.    Technical requirements to below devices are amended:

  • Non-Specific Data Transmission Device:
    Allowable frequency band and power limit changed: 862-869MHz, 915-921MHz and 24GHz
    Power limit changed:  13.56MHz, 5725-5875MHz, 2.4GHz, 61-61.5GHz and 57-64GHz.
    New Frequency bands allowed: 312-318MHz
    Frequency bands removed: 3.1-4.8GHz and 6-9GHz
  • Wideband Data Transmission System
    Allowable frequency band and power limit changed: 57-71GHz
    Power limit changed:2.4GHz
    New Frequency bands allowed: 863-868MHz, 915-921MHz, 5150-5350MHz, 5470-5725MHz and 5725-5925MHz. 
  • Transport and Traffic Telematics
    Allowable frequency band and power limit changed:  5795-5815MHz, 5855-5875MHz, 24GHz (for vehicle radars and for automotive Short-Range Radars [SRR])
    Power limit changed: 76-77GHz
    Usage change: 77-81GHz
  • Inductive System
    Power limit changed: 9-148.5kHz.
    Wireless Charger is additionally allowed in 80-300kHz
  • Radio Frequency Identification System(RFID)
    Power limit changed:  865-868MHz and 2446-2454MHz
    Frequency bands removed:916-921MHz
  • Internet of Things(IoT), Machine to Machine(M2M) Devices
    Allowable frequency band and power limit changed: 433.05-434.79MHz, 862-869MHz and 915-921MHz
    New Frequency bands allowed: 2.4GHz,5725-5875MHz and 3GPP bands

 

The effective date of above regulation is July.6,2020. Certificates issued before this date remain valid.

Mongolia CRC update regulation

 

Based on Resolution no. 29 of Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (CRC) dated August 19, 2019, the latest type approval regulation for information and communication equipment (the Regulation) was approved with a list of products requiring mandatory CRC type approval.

Also note, the Vehicle immobilizer, Vehicle fitted radio products and Radar are clearly included in the list.

 

The Regulation will be enforced after official publication.

Radio Transmission products are subject to mandatory type approval in Mongolia

 

Further to the news of approval dated on October 3, 2018, we just got confirmed information that "List of goods are subject to mandatory conformity assessment” was formally published on Mongolian Government legal site on Nov,1, 2018 and enforced immediately. 

 

 

As publication of the final list, the controlled telecom and radio products are subject to mandatory type approval by Authority (CRC).

We just got update information that "List of goods are subject to mandatory conformity assessment" was just approved by Mongolian Government on October 3, 2018. The approved list will be published soon

CRC announces 4G LTE introduction in Mongolia

 

Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (CRC) recently announced its approval of “Regulatory guideline for the next generation mobile system introduction in Mongolia” by Resolution No.68, in which specifies 9 frequency bands allowed for deployment of 4G LTE technology.

 

At the same time, CRC has also issued licenses to use radio spectrum in Band 3 and band 28 for 4G LTE service to 3 mobile operators.

 

4G LTE service is expected to be implemented in Mongolia later this year. Equipment with 4G LTE function can be type approved by CRC.

Mongolian CRC takes more time for regulation review


As we previously informed, CRC temporarily suspended issuing new or renewed type approval certificates for at least one month from 27th February, 2013. Judging from the current situation, CRC will need more time than expected to review their type approval regulations. 

According to CRC’s official announcement, radio and telecommunications equipment intended for use or sale in the Mongolian market does not require approval from CRC until the review is finalized.

From 27th February, 2013, Mongolia's CRC will temporarily stop issuing type approval certificates until regulation changes are completed.

 

Based on Mongolian law on “Standardization and Conformity Assessment” and Mongolian Prime minister’s instruction on “Reviewing issuance of licenses and certificates”, Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (CRC) starts reviewing  all regulations or guidelines related to type approval system which will implement changes or new regulations in the future.

 

As a result, CRC temporarily stops issuing new or renewal type approval certificates at least for one month from 27th February, 2013.

Mongolia CRC introduces mandatory approval plan for ITE products

 

According to a new decision by Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, starting  January 20, 2012 most ITE products, including WLAN, mobile, SRD, will be subject to mandatory certification by the Commission. Certification will now be checked at customs, when entering the country, as well as in the process of market surveillance. Penalties will be applied to violators of this new decision.
