DR Congo Updated Type Approval Guidelines
DR Congo ARTPT has issued an updated Type Approval Regulation on July 11, 2022. Certificate validity is 5 years start from September 2022. Other requirements such as sample and labeling are not immediately applicable. Additionally, the official process lead time is mentioned to be 1 month from submission of complete application package.

DR Congo Restarted Approval Process
The DR Congo ARPTC has resumed the approval process after it has been suspended for about 3 months due to restructuration and regulatory updates which are not completed however. Applications that have been on hold are therefore being reviewed and certificates expected in the coming weeks. New applications are also accepted for approval.

DR Congo ARPTC Temporally Suspended Approval Process
We have learned that DR Congo ARPTC has temporally suspended their Type Approval Process, pending to a new law that will restructure Regulator and affiliated operations. The suspension may last several weeks and we will advise if any future update.

DR Congo- ARPTC approval guidelines
DR Congo updated Approval Guidelines with following noticeable changes
The Certificate Validity: Certificate is valid for a maximum of 5 years according to below categorization, previously, the certificates were valid for 10 years:
- 5 years for telecom network equipment and radio broadcasting transmitters
- 2 years for Mobile phones, land lines and Low Power Device
- 2 years for equipment not listed as #1 or #2 and integrating a radio module
- 2 years for receivers and TV box receivers
- 5 years for antennas
- 2 years for any other equipment not listed above
The renewal Process: Certificate is renewed under the same conditions as a new application
Label Requirement: Approved Equipment are suggested( to be enforced at any time) to be labelled with the following markings, applicable to all imported Equipment from September 30, 2019 according to the new Decision. The format being adjustable to Equipment size, and label can be included in user's manual for smaller Equipment
