New rules on the conformity recognition in Albania
 
Based on the Decision of Council of Ministers of Albania No.331 dated 14.04.2011, starting October, 2011, telecommunications and radio equipment is divided into two classes, which should comply with the following requirments for conformity recognition process:
 
Class 1: The following subclasses of equipment can be imported and placed on the market without notification and procedure of conformity recognition:
 
1. Telecommunications terminal equipment attached to fixed networks and non-transmitting radio equipment.
2. Radio equipment, which transmits only under the control of a network.
3. Radio transmitters, operable in harmonized frequency bands in Albania and EU. SRDs with technologies of Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee, UWB, etc. are included in this subclass. 

Class 2: Radio equipment working in non-harmonized frequency ranges: the manufacturer, authorized representative, importer or the person responsible for placing the radio equipment on the market shall notify Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications (AKEP) for conformity recognition prior to the first importation and placing on the market.
