Mexico’s newly created Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) officially began operating on November 26, 2026, following the publication of its Internal Rules, GUIDELINES FOR THE OPERATION AND FUNCTIONING OF THE PLENARY SESSION OF THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS REGULATORY COMMISSION.

With the new rules, the authority has started reviewing type approval applications. We are informed that there are currently close to 2,000 applications in the queue, and lead time is not provided. Certificates or rejection notices would be issued for the submitted applications. Delay could be expected.
