ANATEL published the new Act No. 14158 on October 8, 2025, which updates the Technical Requirements for Radio Frequency Devices originally defined under Act No. 14448/2017 and the Test Procedures under Act No. 237/2022. The new Act will be enforced on April 6, 2026.
Summary of the main updates includes:
1. Wireless Audio Systems (Wireless Microphones; Audio PMSE up to 3 GHz)
2. Vehicle Radar system
3. Radar Systems 76GHz-81GHz
4. Devices operate in the Wi-Fi 5GHz bands (including Wi-Fi 6GHz)
5. Systems operate in 57GHz-71GHz
6. New Frequency Section – 116 GHz to 246 GHz (Section 25)
Since this Act is newly published, Certification Bodies are still awaiting further
guidance from ANATEL and are NOT yet fully aligned which may lead to different
interpretations of the new Act.
